Place Integrated's first international and all-virtual collaboration. Place Integrated in collaboration with Jose Torcal of Toronto, Canada teamed to develop a compelling idea to address the design brief of the international design competition, LA Creature, which poses the questions - can we live with animals in new ways? Can we transcend the dualism of decimation on the one hand and protection on the other? How we can use design to open our cities, our landscapes, and our minds to a more symbiotic existence with other creatures? The design challenge - to design a place or habitat for a nonhuman creature (client) and design a place, habitat, or program that improves its life and increases human awareness and empathy towards its existence. ​
